Nintendo has released an official Nintendo Store app, allowing more fans to access the eShop on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Five years after exclusively launching in Japan as the “ My Nintendo ” app, Nintendo has now expanded the iOS and Android experience under a new name to other regions, including the US, UK, Canada, and most of Europe.
That makes the Android launch more than 4x the size of the iOS launch, with 327% more installs (360,000) — but the firm notes that's not an apples-to-apples comparison.
Nintendo has been a bit more focused on mobile apps in recent years, having released the likes of Nintendo Today! and Nintendo Music (not to mention games like Fire Emblem Shadows ). Its latest one is Nintendo Store, which is out now on iOS and Android. This is a reimagining of the My Nintendo app the company debuted in Japan in 2020.
Nintendo finally has a mobile storefront for Switch games.
Nintendo has released the Nintendo Store app for iOS via App Store and Android via Google Play. The app, which can be used to browse Nintendo systems, accessories, games, and merchandise, was originally released as the My Nintendo app in Japan in April 2020—and has now been updated, rebranded, and available worldwide.
