Cocomelon is much more appropriately slow for toddlers. I hated Cocomelon, too, but my daughter loved it. I'd rather have her watch that than most other available programs. Reply reply thetiredgardener •
My 2yo old daughter had become addicted to Cocomelon and at first I didn’t think much of it. She would ask for Coco constantly and stayed glued to the TV. Initially I allowed this because I had a baby and having an infant attached to my body made interacting with my toddler nearly impossible. Of course everything else that comes with a new baby is also a factor. I would estimate that we ...

Past that though, cocomelon started on YouTube and was designed to hold kids attention. As in, keep them glued to it and not clicking off to something else. The science about long term affects and such is lacking. At this point, most people agree that there must be something to screen time and caution moderation. But not all content is the same.
We stopped letting her watch Cocomelon about 2-3 weeks ago. Completely different kid, very engaged, makes eye contact, responds to her name, says around 40 new words. She was so addicted to that show plus the massive amount of stimulation it provides it was turning her into a completely different kid. Reply reply •
I’ve seen a lot of hate on cocomelon. Can someone explain what’s wrong with it? I know that bluey and Daniel tiger are held in god-tier regards in this sub. And I agree they are great shows. But I’m not understanding the hate with coco.
The only thing I'll give Little Angel is that at least the parents have some vague jobs. Baby John interrupts mommy's presentation. Still worse than all the other families' parents in Cocomelon, who have specific and often-shown jobs.
